Kara J. Carey joined the Law Offices of Miriam G. Altman, P.C. as an associate in 2011. Prior to joining the firm, Attorney Carey worked as an associate at Thomas V. Orlandi, P.C., formerly Orlandi & Sweeney, P.C., where she practiced for four years focusing on domestic relations.
Attorney Carey specializes in all aspects of domestic relations, including divorce, custody, child support, contempt matters, paternity actions and modification matters. She also has experience obtaining and defending 209A restraining orders and how to resolve a divorce action when there is a 209A in place or domestic violence in the home.
Attorney Carey graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts prior to attending Northeastern University Law School. While in law school, she spent a semester interning with now Chief Justice Paula Carey at the Norfolk Probate and Family Court. Her experience in the Probate Court sparked her interest in family law. She also participated in the Domestic Violence Clinic where she assisted victims of domestic violence in gaining protection and with family law matters.
